Danish News Telegrams - 1 November 1995The Danish Governments Foreign affairs committee will in all probability arrange a hearing about the conditions in Chinese occupied Tibet. Foreign affairs spokesmen from various political parties have declared their interest in a hearing and will discuss the case at a meeting on the 7th. November.
A hearing about Tibet is controversial, because it will with certainty, give rise to aggressive protests from the Chinese Embassy in Copenhagen. China regards any form of criticism about the situation in Tibet as involvement in their internal affairs.
The conservative party's spokesman, Per Stig Mxller, says -"We wish to focus on the Tibetans problems"
"A brutal suppression is taking place in China which, also affects the Tibetans that have been occupied by China" Per Stig Mxller hopes that the Dalai Lama can participate in the hearing. He also believes that Denmark should support the Dalai Lama's autonomy plan.
