The third meeting of the Leading Croup for Locating the Reincarnated Child of the Panchen Lama was held in Beijing from 8th to 11th November. Party and government officials met cordially with representatives to the meeting.

Jiang Zemin, CCP Central Committee general secretary and president; Li Ruihuan CCP Central Committee Political Bureau Standing Committee member and Chinese People S Political Consultative Conference [CPPCCJ National Committee chairman; Zhu Rongji, CCP Central Committee Political Bureau Standing Committee member and State Council vice-premier; Lin Huaqing, CCP Central Committee Political Bureau Standing Committee member and Central Military Commission vice-chairman,- Hu Jintao, CCP Central Committee Political Bureau Standing Committee member and Secretariat member; and Rong Yiren, vice-president, met cordially with members of the leading and advisery groups, as well as with representatives from the religious circle> and had pictures taken with them.
