On the 21th November Ragnhild Pohanka, MP from the Green Party, asked the Swedish Foreign Minister, Lena Hjelm-Wallen, if Sweden was prepared to recognize Tibet's independence and to put further pressure on the Chinese government concerning the violations of human rights.
Mrs. Hjelm-Wallen answered that Sweden "does not question that Tibet is a part of China", but that Sweden regularly protests against violations of human rights in Tibet.
