Transnational Radical Party

Brussels, 29 November 1995. Finally the news came: Deng's China has decided to recognize its "own" Panchen Lama, the second religious authority of Tibetan buddhism, so opposing the recognition, already occured last June, of Gedun Choekyi Nima by the Dalai Lama.
It wasn't enough for Deng's Chinese to abduct the real Panchen Lama, hiding him for months and letting his parents disappear, and arresting the monks involved in the case and forcing them to follow the ill-famed "re-education courses" in Tashi Lumpo, place of residence of the Panchen Lama.
It was not even enough that last July the European Parliament passed an urgent resolution, submitted by deputies members of the Radical Party, on the case of the Panchen Lama, stricly condemning Tibet's invasion and military occupation.
Until the end we have hoped the Chinese authorities could have acted reasonably, avoiding interference with the religious practices which lead to the Panchen Lama's recognition. But the communist and atheistic Chinese regime preferred instead to violently and coercively interfere with the religious practices of the Tibetan people, which day by day is vanishing into thin air, bringing to its grave a cultural, religious and linguistic heritage absolutely unique.
As the transnational and transdivisional Radical Party, we declare that we will continue to struggle in all the possible institutions, from the United Nations to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, from the European Parliament to many national parliaments, so that legality and respect of religious, cultural and political integrity of the Tibetan people will be restored.
