[On the 11th of December 1995 the protest demonstration took part in Prag in Czech Republic to support the independence of Tibet and respecting human rights in this country. About 100 people took part in this action and information about it were presented in Czech radios and newspapers. This demonstration was connected with signing of a petition of following version: IH]

[This petition is addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and to the representatives of the Chinese government in Prague.]

FREEDOM FOR TIBET

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about sufferings of the Tibetan people caused by the unlawful Chinese annexation.

We are opposed to the mass immigration to Tibet of the Chinese civilian population, threatening as it does the separate existence and independent culture of Tibet.

We are opposed to the persistent violation of human rights and to the systematic destruction of local culture, religion and environment in Tibet.

We are opposed to the intrusion of atheistic bureaucracy into Tibetan religious affairs as displayed by the Chinese appointment of a 10th Panchen Lama. We regard Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, recognized by the 14th Dalai Lama himself as the rightful reincarnation of Panchen Lama.

We call on the United Nations to persuade the Chinese government to immediately start respecting the cultural heritage and human rights of all Tibetans.

We call on the Chinese government to immediately scrap its policy of mass settlement in Tibet, and put an end to their harmful intrusion into Tibetan culture, religion and environment.

To conclude, we appeal to the Chinese government to start respecting human rights in Tibet.

Next year the Free Tibet organization will be founded in Prag. Please send all information about situation in Tibet and all world activities for supporting Tibet which will hold on following contact:
