Citizens of the Net! You are invited to take part in an international campaign of great significance.

As you may know, the situation in Tibet is desperate: after more than 45 years of Chinese occupation of the country the Tibetan people are literally at risk of disappearing from the face of the earth in a few years. The opening of dialogue between the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in Exile and the Peoples Republic of China, still unrealized, adds to the gravity of the situation.

The nonviolent struggle for Tibet's survival and liberation is now being escalated. An international campaign is currently underway to show symbolic support and solidarity for the Tibetan cause. On March 10th, THE ANNIVERSARY OF INSURRECTION IN LHASA, a massive demonstration will take place in Brussels; towns and cities in Europe will be flying the Tibetan flag from their town halls; and North American communities are being asked to do the same.

A similar initiative has been launched on the Web. All who wish to participate may collect their Tibetan(web)flag at and add their URL to the Tibetan supporters' page indicating they will be flying their Tibetan(web)flag from March 10th-12th. As March is WOMENS' HISTORY MONTH we would also like to recognize the anniversary of March 12th as TIBETAN WOMEN'S UPRISING DAY.
