TIBET PHOTO CONTEST (ICT)
Published by World Tibet Network News - Tuesday - February 10, 1996

February, 1996

The International Campaign for Tibet is holding a photo contest to select photos for our 1997 color wall calendar. We are looking for striking images which portray life in contemporary Tibet.

Images depicting scenes of the lives of ordinary Tibetans at home, in schools, health clinics, at work, and at play, as well as scenes of the rapidly changing urban environment, Chinese settlers and the natural environment are being sought.

Our 1996 calendar featured 12 images by photographers such as Galen Rowell, Steve Lehman and Phil Borges. We printed 3,000 copies (10' x 14') and they quickly sold out. Individual copies sold for $9.95, Tibet support groups purchased bulk copies for half price, and ICT also distributed several hundred complimentary copies to Members of Congress and the Administration and their staff.

To submit, please send reproduction quality color prints (5 x 7 or 8 x 10) or slide duplicates to the attention of Tibet Photo Contest, International Campaign for Tibet, 1825 K St., NW, Suite 520, Washington, DC 20006. Please send duplicates, not originals.

If your picture is chosen, we will request originals for reproduction. Deadline: June 1, 1996. Ten complimentary calendars will be sent to photographers whose images are chosen.

Tibetan photographers are encouraged to submit photos.
