Published by World Tibet Network News - Thursday - February 15, 1996From: Gregory W Alling Amnesty International USA, with the support of Tibetan Studies Society and the Southern Asian Institute at Columbia University present Escape from Tibet with Gendun Rinchen, Tibetan human rights activist and former prisoner of conscience, speaking on "The Current Human Rights Situation in Tibet."
His talk will be preceded by a screening of the 30- minute abridged version of the documentary film, "Escape from Tibet," which follows the flight of Tibetans over the Himalayas into the subcontinent.
Sheila Dauer, Country Actions Director of Amnesty International and Rinchen Dharlo, North American Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama will provide short remarks and join Gendun Rinchen for a discussion period following the talk.
