15 Cities hoist Tibet's Flag

Vienna - On the city halls of 15 Austrian cities, among them Klagenfurt and Innsbruck, the flag of Tibet will fly on March 10. Europe-wide, 370 cities and communities, with Rome on the top, participate in this symbolic action which shall call attention to the nonviolent struggle of the Tibetan people against the Chinese suppression. March 10 is the anniversary of the uprising against the Chinese occupation in 1959 which was bloodily put down. At a press conference of the Tibetan Community in Austria, the Society "Save Tibet" and the Union of the Friends of Tibet the Folk Dance Ensemble of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA), whose tour through Austria begins on Friday, has been introduced on the occasion of the Tibetan New Year holiday "losar" (according to the Tibetan calender 2123 - the year of the fire mouse).
