DHARAMSALA, 14 May 1996. Tibetans in Dharamsala observed the first anniversary of discovery of six year old Gendun Choekyi Nyima as the 11th reincarnation of the Panchen Lama today with prayers, a peace procession and a 12 hour hunger strike. A large number of local Tibetans, students of Tibetan Children's Village and a few foreign tourists took part in the day-long anniversary commeration.
