XINING (July 7) XINHUA - The largest jade processing base in west China is to be built in Golmud City in Qinghai Province. Qinghai is rich in resources of jade, which are cherished by Chinese as an attractive raw material for artifacts.

A mine with a deposit of 5,000 tons of jade is being quarried, producing 100 tons of jade annually.

So far five jade processing enterprises have been set up in the province.
