LHASA (July 26) XINHUA - Over the past two years 100 primary schools in the Tibet Autonomous Region have developed a sister-school relationship with other schools in China's interior.

In related developments, more than 30,000 Tibetan Young Pioneers, who are outstanding pupils, have made friends with Young Pioneers in the interior.

To increase contacts, the pupils have become pen-pals, sending about 100, 000 letters and 20,000 postcards.

Children in the interior have donated more than 800,000 yuan to build two Hope primary schools in Tibet, as well as 400,000 yuan worth of books and schoolbags.

The friendly activities have helped Tibetan children establish close contact with kids in other parts of the motherland, helping them get to know about the unity of different ethnic groups at a young age.
