A spokesman for CRI's English service said from Beijing it wasunlikely the service's programming was being used to blockshortwave frequencies from Voice of Tibet.
English service director Xia Jixuan told AAP the service usedthe FM band for its broadcasts and he doubted this would jam orblock shortwave broadcasts.
He said the service had been broadcasting for more than 10 yearsand had not received any complaints about jamming or blocking otherradio services.
Mr Xia said he had received "no official notification" aboutcities broadcasting the English language service in or near Tibet.
Mr Xia said the English service was not under any obligation toinvestigate the BBC's allegations.
"We go through official channels, frequencies must be regulatedby the government," Mr Xia said.
He added: "I don't think it's a problem for us."
