Artistes of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts in Dharamsala will be touring the Kingdom of Morocco (in Africa), the United States and Canada in September-October this year.
In Morocco TIPA artistes will take part in the shooting of the feature film Kundun in the second half of September.
TIPA's tour of the United States and Canada will begin with a benefit concert in New York on October 2. Thereafter, TIPA will perform in the following cities, in a tour organised by Tibet House and Columbia Artist Management Inc.

During TIPA's maiden tour of the United States in 1975, the Tibetan Information & Publicity Office (now renamed Department of Information & International Relations) explained the significant of the trip, in a press release) in this way: "The importance of the occasion is two-fold. It will be the first time that unadulterated traditional Tibetan music is being made available to the western audience. Secondly, it will also be the first ever tour, outside India, of the Tibetan Music, Dance & Drama Soceity (TIPA's first name) which is the only professional body of its kind."
