Mr Fischer's visit follows a brief trip last week by Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer, whose talks covered, among other issues, recent hitches in bilateral relations focusing on Taiwan and Tibet.
Mr Fischer brings with him a delegation of eight business leaders, including representatives from the wool, wheat, banking and insurance industries.
