Sub: Jiang Zemin's visit to India
Dear friends,
This is in continuation of my previous message of November 7, 1996 regarding Jiang Zemin's visit to India.
Jiang Zemin's visit to India is most probably on November 28, 1996. TYC and TWA have already posted a message about this visit, and its political significance. Jiang's visit to India is first of its kind by a Chinese Head of State.
So this visit is an opportunity for all of us to highlight the issue of Tibet. As stated before, Tibet Support Groups are requested to send memorandums, and petitions to the Indian Embassies of your respective countries. The memorandum and petition should focus on urging the government of India to raise the issue of Tibet with the Chinese President. The petitions should also request the government of India to urge the Chinese leader to hold negotiations without any preconditions with His Holiness the Dalai Lama to solve the problem of Tibet peacefully.
With regards.
