Dear Tibet Supporters,
Thinley Norbu (Tibet Support Group Liaison Officer in India) has requested that we write officials at the Indian Embassy concerning President Jiang Zemin's (The PRC) visit to India on or about November 28. Jiang's visit to India is the first of its kind by a Chinese Head of State. Thinley Norbu has urged us to address the following issues in our letter:
1. ask the government of India to discuss the issue of Tibet with President Jiang Zemin.
2. ask the government of India to urge President Jiang Zemin to hold negotiations without any preconditions with His Holiness The Dalai Lama to solve the problem of Tibet peacefully.
In addition, the International Tibet Independence Movement requests that you also ask the Indian government to:
1. Discuss the whereabouts & safety of Gendhun Choekyi Nyima with President Jiang Zemin.
2. Discuss the whereabouts & safety of Ngawang Choephel with President Jiang Zemin.
In the United States, you can e-mail, His Excellency Naresh Chandra, Ambassador, Embassy of India, Washington D.C. at:
minpol@indiagov.org
The Ambassador does not have his own e-mail address, so your message should include in the body of the text: c/o Political Secretary, Mr. Navdeep Suri.
Please send your e-mails NOW.
Peace,
Larry Gerstein
Director, International Tibet Independence Movement
(No reports or discussion lately on the whereabouts of Gendhun Choekyi Nyima. Please ask, "Where is Gendhun Choekyi Nyima?")
