Letter to the editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer published on Friday, Dec. 20, 1996

Dear Editor:

I work for an organization that advocates self-determination and human rights for the Tibetan people, so I have heard the horror stories you've reported many times before. While I thought I had become numb to these atrocities, The Inquirer articles (Dec. 8-11, 15) brought tears to my eyes. The Dalai Lama has said, "In our struggle for freedom, truth is the only weapon we possess." Thank you for telling your readers the truth.
