More on human rights eduction:
I spoke with the Western Regional Director of Amnesty International USA this afternoon about Amnesty's Human Rights Education program. They have been unable to get into China so far, let alone Tibet (they do not sneak, but only go into a country with official permission). The London Amnesty office is in charge of the international human rights education program of Amnesty. I know that Amnesty is currently going into Mongolia with its HRs education program and it may be worthwhile for the Free Tibet Campaign in London to talk with the Amnesty office in London about this issue.
ICLT will contact the person in charge of the UN Decade of Human Rights Education campaign which is gearing up for the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1998. We will let you know what we learn from this person who has information from all over the world on human rights education efforts.
Hope you are all staying warm and dry, from rainy California, Eva
