Published by World Tibet Network News - Thursday, January 23, 1997TORONTO, 22 Jan CTC Toronto along with all the other Tibetan groups in Ontario ie CTAO, Chushi Gungduk, Lindsay Tibetan Independence Movement, Tibetan Youth Congress Belleville, Potala Dance Troupe are putting on this years Losar party, and all the proceeds are to go towards "March for Tibets Independence". We will have as our special guest Takser Rinpoche. We invite all to to take in the Sights, Sounds and Tastes of Tibet. Featured will be traditional Tibetan ceremonies, informative slide presentation, a speach from Takser Rinpoche, colourful Tibetn Folk Dance and Music, and a Delicious Tibetan meat and vegetarian dinner. It is to be held at: The Church St. Community centre, 519 Church St. on Saturday February 15, 1997 6pm to 1am Tickets are $15 before February 10 and $17 at door. Children under 12 and Senior are $5. On Feb 6, 1997 CTC and the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) are jointly sponsoring the Toronto premiere of "Warrior Songs: King Gesar" a film tracing the life of the legendary Tibetan warrior king, based on a musical composition by Canadian Peter Lieberson, which feature performances by internationally acclaimed musician Emanuel Ax and Yo Yo Ma.
