Lingering conflict over religious following among the Tibetans community reportedly led to the cold-blooded murder of three Tibetans, including the principal of the Buddhist School of Dialectics, by unidentified person here last night. The incident took place near the Dalai Lama's residence at Mcleodganj.
Principal of the Buddhist School of Dialectics Lobsang Gyatso (70) and his two students Lobsang Ngawang (25) and Ngawang Latto(22) were allegedly murdered on the school premises at about 8 p.m. last evening. The principal died on the spot and the students succumbed to their injuries on way to the Delek hospital of Tibetans at Dharamsala and the PGI, Chandigarh.
The victims were reportedly killed with sharp-edged weapons. The district police have detained six Tibetans for interrogation.
While investigations are still on, it is learnt that the victims and the culprits had a difference of opinion over the Tibetan spiritual leadership, the Dalai Lama's lineage and the Shugden Darjee (Deity) school of thought. The principal was earlier threatened through letters for being a part of the Dalai Lama ``Clique'' and the propaganda against the Shugden deity concept.
