Dear Tibet Supporter,

The "March for Tibet's Independence" is now moving. On March 10th, over 100 people joined the walk as we marched through Toronto. Over half of the participants were Tibetans from Canada. The weather was quite cooperative as we "got our feet wet" covering 6 miles.

Full-time members of the walk right now include: 8 Tibetans, 4 Westerners, & 1 Chinese Malaysian. Others will join us as we cross the Canadian-USA border.

There was a great deal of excitement during the course of the day. Many walkers felt certain that Tibet would soon be independent. This was extremely inspiring for us.

A number of you have written asking how you can financially contribute to the walk. We definitely need YOUR HELP. All of the walkers, particularly the Tibetans, participating on the entire walk, NEED FUNDING. We estimate that each walker will require $1500 (US dollars) to complete the walk. We are fully committed to having anyone on the walk who wants to speak out & stand up for Tibet. Thus, we fully welcomed these individuals to participate. Now, we must make it possible for them to finish the walk.

Thubten Samdup (Canada Tibet Committee) suggested an excellent idea for fund raising that I wanted to share. He recommended that we raise funds to support the walkers' meals. We estimate that each walker will need $10 (US dollars) per day for food. The entire walking group, therefore, needs $130 per day for food. We would be most appreciative if you can sponsor the entire groups' meals for a day ($130) or simply sponsor one walker ($10) for a day. There are many variables that must be addressed as we walk. It would be extremely helpful, if we did not have to worry about money.
