Youngchen Lhamo escaped from Tibet in 1989. Since coming to the west in 1993 she has quickly made a mark for Tibet on the world music stage. In 1995 she won the Australian Music Industry (ARIA) Award for Best World / Folk album. Oh her live performances The Times in London praised ' ..the sheer beauty of her voice....spine tingling stuff'. Her recent performance at Carnegie Hall produced similar praise. She has given solo performances in Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Japan, Italy, Spain, France, England and the USA to extraordinary reviews.
