Apologies for repeating recent requests. I need some info. on the Tibetan
community in India, for a little project of IFTIP (Israeli Friends of the
Tibetan People):
1. Statistical data on the Tibetan population in India: numbers, age
groups, location, etc.
2. Health/demography: main diseases/illnesses/death causes. Infant & mother
mortality, average household size.
3. TB - number of new cases p.year, methods of treatment.
4. Medical services: number of doctors, nurses and other health workers p.
population.
5. How(if) is traditional Tibetan medicine used in conjunction with
conventional/western methods?
3. Preventive health: vaccinations, health education, hygiene, etc.
I am also pleased to inform you that March 10th did not pass unnoticed even
in this troubled corner of the globe. We've had a "shangrila in exile"
evening - believe me, it rhymes in Hebrew ("it sounds better in Yiddish").
A specially recorded Video message to the Israeli friends of Tibet has
helped to raise both our spirits, as well as the local media's attention.
The event and the date were mentioned on the two main TV. channels, radio
stations and newspapers. All that's left, then, is to hammer some mutual
compassion into the people of this region...
