On May 12, 1997, at 4:00 p.m., the Tibetan Flag will be displayed in a

permanent exhibition among 130 other flags representing countries of origin

of the faculty, staff and students of LaGuardia Community College in New York

City. The Dedication Ceremony will be attended by foreign diplomats, city

and state officials, members from the ethnic and business communities, and

the LaGuardia college community. For Tibetans, it is a historic occasion,

because it will be the first time that the Tibetan national flag is displayed

in a permanent exhibition among so many other national flags. Those
