The Senate Foreign Relations Committee of the United States Congress will
be holding a Hearing on the situation in Tibet on May 13, 1997. Among
those testifying include Kasur Lodi Gyari, former Senator Claiborne Pell,
Ambassador Jean Kirkpatrick, Prof. Robert Thurman, Ms. Maura Moynihan and
Jeffrey Bader of the State Department.
This Hearing had been announced by Senator Jesse Helms, Chairman of the
Committee, during the Light of Truth Award dinner on April 23, 1997.
