The fact that Japan has been campaigning for a permanent seat in the UN
security council (UNSC) is old news, really. What may have not been widely
discussed, at least at CCF, however, is the impact of a Japan with a
permanent seat on the international community in general, and on China in
particular. In his article, Han Zhu hopes to draw our attention to the
most recent attempts Japan has put up towards joining the UNSC, and gives
us an in-depth analysis of the risks that such a permanent membership would
entail for China. Furthermore, he urges us to take possible actions
against Japan's attempts. As always, we would certainly like to hear your
viewpoints over this issue.

there, and the tobacco companies who will do really anything to maintain such
a deadly trade? We hope Jin Hallock's article can give you some clues about
these and other related issues.
