Beijing, 28th May: A summer camp on China's Qinghai-Tibet Plateau from 29th July to 14th August will select 50 students from 15 major universities in inland areas, Hong Kong and Macao.
This is the first time to hold such a camp in Lhasa, Xigaze [Shigatse] and other places in the Tibet Autonomous Region.
The 15 universities include Beijing University, Nanjing University, Nankai University, three universities in Hong Kong, and Macao University, today's `China Youth News' reports.
Students above the sophomore level in geography and geology departments are being given preference, according to the China Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Study Society, the camp's organizer, which says it hopes the camp will interest young people in studying the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
Students wanting to join the activity need to have an outstanding academic record and be in good health.
