The police intervened and shifted the six-member family to a safer place following the attack on Thursday, the daily said.
The Pioneer said the family were accused of spying for China, beaten and their house was ransacked. No arrests have been made, the newspaper said.
India is home to about 100,000 Tibetans, most of whom fled their homeland with the Dalai Lama after a failed anti-Chinese uprising in 1959.
The Dalai Lama heads a government-in-exile in the northern Indian town of Dharamsala. It is not recognised by any country.
