TIBET/ SPECIAL AMBASSADOR OF THE EUROPEAN UNION?

While U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright receives the request of Congress for the nomination of a political coordinator for Tibet, and while Congress finances a special short wave radio information broadcast

for Tibetans, the European Union not only refuses to take any initiative, it has further blocked the initiative taken by the European Parliament in favor of a radio information broadcast for Tibetans for over one year.

APPOINTMENTS

Professor Samdong Rimpoche, President of the Tibetan Parliament in exile, will travel to Great Britain during the first two weeks of October for a series of public encounters during which he will speak of the Satyagraha.
