Published by World Tibet Network News - Wednesday, August 20, 1997BEIJING, Aug 17 (AFP) - Foreign investors are slowly moving into Tibet with 236.3 million dollars of overseas funds accumulated by the end of July, Xinhua reported Sunday.
The region's Administration for Industry and Commerce said 100 companies from Japan, the United States, Australia, Nepal, Hong Kong and Macau had invested, with projects ranging from pharmaceuticals and electronics to tourism. Traditional handicraft industries were also gaining increased foreign support, it added.
