Office of Tibet, Kathmandu) -- The Tibetan Community of Nepal under the supervision to Office of Tibet, Kathmandu has prayed to His Holiness the Dalai Lama to offer a long life Puja, which has been very graciously accepted. The long life puja will be offered in Dharamsala on October 8, 1997.
The Tibetan Community leaders will be joined by Nepalese Buddhist brothers and sisters on this auspicious occasion, They represent different ethnic buddhist from the Himalayan Region mainly Tamang, Sherpas, Yolmos, Tsumpas, Nupris, Dolpas, Mustang, Manangies and Newaris to offer their prayers for long life to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The most venerable Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche will conduct the Long life prayer on this occasion. The community will be joined by the Higher ranking Lamas from the different traditions including Bonpo residing in Nepal. This is the 4th grand long life prayer offered to His Holiness the Dalai Lama by the Tibetan community living in Nepal.
A special committee under the chairmanship of the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is formed to arranged the prayer in a grand manner. Several hundred people from all walks of life will travel to Dharamsala to participate in the prayer.
