Published by World Tibet Network News - Wednesday - September 3, 1997The Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) arrived in Chicago late in the evening on September 1, 1997 to begin a four city tour which will include performances in Madison, Wisconsin, Chicago, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Denver, Colorado. A number of "preview" performances are scheduled this week in Chicago to increase awareness of the tour. The "previews" are free to the public and will include the following:
Thursday, September 4 - 6:30 PM Transitions Bookplace, 1000 W. North Avenue, Chicago
Friday, September 5 - 12:00 PM Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State Street, Chicago
Saturday, September 6 - 12:15 PM and 1:15 PM, Field Museum of Natural History, Roosevelt Road and Lake Shore Drive, Chicago (performance will be near the Tibet Exhibit)
Monday, September 8 - 12:00 PM State of Illinois Center, 100 W. Randolph St., Chicago
TIPA is also tentatively scheduled for a private visit to Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music on Tuesday evening, September 9.

September 11 & 12 (Thursday & Friday) -- Barrymore Theater
Ticket prices: $16.00 in advance, $18.00 day of show
Children 12 and under: $8.00 in advance, $9.00 day of show
Chicago, Illinois
September 20 (Saturday) -- Athenaeum Theater (Tickets available through Ticketmaster 312.902.1500)
Ticket prices: $25.00, $20.00 and $15.00
Minneapolis, Minnesota
October 4 (Saturday) -- Ted Mann Auditorium, University of Minnesota
Ticket prices: $15.00
Denver, Colorado

The Tour has been organized by the Tibetan Alliance of Chicago, in cooperation with the Tibetan Communities of Chicago, Madison, Minneapolis and Denver, and with Wisconsin Friends of Tibet, the Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota and Colorado Friends of Tibet.
