Philippe Wagner, a young man aged 26, walked 70 km from Beauvais, his home town, to Paris to start a hunger strike in front of the Chinese Embassy.
He arrived on Monday Sept. 15th, and immediately started his hunger strike.
Staying alone and almost forgotten due to unawareness from the medias in the first days, he now is receiving lots of friends every day, and hopes to go on at least until beginning of next week.
Philippe Wagner is a young French buddhist who decided to use this form of action to call the attention of the medias on Ngawang Sangdrols's case.
He installed in front of the Chinese embassy a Tibetan flag, some posters asking for the release of Ngawang Sangdrol, and a count of the days of his hunger strike.
People living in the area come regularly to encourage him, and he now has received the support of various TSGs.
The Chinese embassy regularly asks the police to "wipe him out", but until now, his positive attitude and non-violent action has kept him safe from any police repression, though he remains under constant surveillance from some policemen.
The Chinese also regularly take pictures of him and his visitors. Main NGOs and the Parliamentary groups have been alerted on his action, and we expect some positive reactions.
