Over 100 groups in 34 states and 4 Canadian provinces are now participating in Seven Days for Tibet. The following partial listing is a summary of highlights of Seven Days activities as of today. 300,000 Action Kits are being distributed to these groups to distribute in the coming weeks.
KEY CITIES
BOULDER, CO - Colorado Friends of Tibet and the Tibetan Association of Boulder has a full week of activities including Action Kit distribution, candlelight vigil, day of prayer, cultural performances, and a four-day Tibetan medicine clinic. Contact Pema Dechen (303) 499-4168.
CHICAGO, IL - The Tibetan Association of Chicago and the Tibetan Alliance of Chicago is sponsoring Action Kit distribution, a candlelight vigil, demonstration and other educational programs. Contact: Karma Zurkhang (773) 275-7454.
ORLANDO, FL - On October 12, Thubten Jigme Norbu, elder brother of the Dalai Lama, will hold a press conference and participate in a protest at Splendid China, a PRC theme park which has a minature version of Tibet's Potala Palace.
NEW YORK, NY A coalition of groups is planning a press conference, candlelight vigil on Oct. 8, Action Kit distribution and a cap-off event at the Wetlands Club. Contact: Students for a Free Tibet (212) 533-5705.
PHILADELPHIA, PA The U.S. Tibet Committee will be organizing a walk to the Liberty Bell and has invited the mayor to be present. They also will host bookstore events, work with Buddhist centers and leaflet. Contact Carolyn Holland (215) 824-2928

WASHINGTON, DC The International Campaign for Tibet is hosting a national press event, participating in Congressional hearings, and coordinating national distribution of Action Kits.
