The Urumqi City Public Security Bureau has again scored notable achievements in the second-phase strike-hard and rectification campaign. First of all, it has cracked all criminal cases tasked by the Provincial Public Security Department and has dismantled a number of criminal gangs.

During the second-phase campaign, leaders of public security organs throughout the city took personal charge, while each case was assigned to a specific group to ensure individual responsibility in waging a comprehensive campaign. As a result, a series of both politically and criminally motivated murder cases were cracked; and a number of crime suspects, national separatists, and terrorists were arrested. Second, it has cracked down, according to the law, a number of illegal religious venues and underground scripture classes.
