China, embarrassed by the flood of Hollywood films depicting the brutal nature of its rule over Tibet, has taken to celluloid with its own version of events.
China has been stung by ``Seven Years in Tibet,'' which opened in theaters last month. Five more Tibet films are in preparation.
The Chinese embassy in London is striking back, with a screening Nov. 25 of a documentary prepared by Chinese Central Television, which, the embassy says, ``recounts how the Dalai Lama was trained through the strict Tibetan Buddhist system to become leader of a theocratic, feudalistic and primitive slave-holding society.''
