[CND, 12/24/97] Three US religious leaders will visit China, including Tibet, to find facts in religious freedom, AFP reported from Washington on Tuesday. The three are Argue, Roman Catholic Archbishop Theodore McCarrick and Rabbi Arthur Schneier of the New-York based Appeal of Conscience Foundation, an interfaith organization. All three clergymen are known for speaking out in favor of religious freedom. The trip is due to an invitation from Beijing, and the Chinese authorities have been very cooperative during the preparations, according to Argue. President Clinton has invited the three leaders for an official send-off in the White House before their departure on February 8th. (Weihe GUAN, Guochen WAN)
