[CND, 12/25/97] Continuing its attack on the US film industry, the official English-language China Daily published an editorial on Wednesday, warning Hollywood that it would "never be forgiven" for its recent movies on Tibet. The AFP reported from Beijing that the editorial named "Seven Years in Tibet," "Red Corner," "Kundun," "Wind Horse," and "Free Tibet" as films which "create new 'truth' to deceive audiences" and "hurt a nation's feelings." The Chinese authorities have been waging a campaign against the Dalai Lama, accusing him of seeking independence for Tibet, and have threatened reprisals against Hollywood over the films.
