Excerpts from report by the Chinese provincial newspaper `Qinghai Ribao' on 17th January
It was the first time for Qinghai to stand among the secondarily large gold production provinces in China. In 1997, the province turned out 3,828.7 kilograms of gold, fulfilling the state mandatory plan by 454 per cent and the state-fixed target for gold production increase by 371 per cent and showing an increase of 282 per cent over the previous year...
