MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 1998 -- NSI Communications Inc. (CDN:NSII) NSI Communications Inc. (``NSI'') which specializes in providing equipment, systems and engineering services for satellite communications, has announced that its Satcom Systems group has received three orders totaling approximately $8.6 million.

NSI has signed a $6.3 million sales contract with the China Instrument Import Export Company for the supply of satellite earth stations and related equipment and services. The equipment will be used to expand the long distance telecommunication network of Tibet. Work on this project will commence as soon as a financing agreement between MOFTEC and EDC is concluded, and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 1999.
