Madrid, September 22, 1989. Marco Pannella and Marco Taradash, Euro-MPs and Jos Manuel Sanchez, trade-unionist and policeman, have presented the list of the "Antiprohibicionistas sobre droga/contra la criminalidad politica y comun" for the elections for the renewal of the Cortes (legislative elections). Together with Marco Pannella, Marco Taradash, Euro-MP elected on the antiprohibitionist lists last June and the head of the list, Jos Manuel Sanchez, foreign leader of the "Sindacato Unitario di Polizia" (which numbers 70% of Spanish police), jurists, intellectuals, universitary professors and writers, also partcipated as well as candidates on the antiprohibitionist list.

On this occasion Marco Pannella declared: "the front of rights, tolerance and democracy is moving to Madrid where the presentation of an Antiprohibitionist list constitutes a European test of great significance".

Our militants from Moscow, Budapest, Ouagadougou and Montreal, are aware of this and will take part in every way at the side of our Spanish comrades in the battle. May I be allowed to address an appeal to the Spanish press in order that Spanish citizens be allowed to receive the correct news, instead of the scant information supplied by the radio and television?"
