In a few weeks' time, the Radical Party of 1991 has achieved a number of members corresponding to almost 50% of the members of the whole of 1990.

Even we, who had placed so much faith in the Radical Party, against everything and everybody, are amazed and touched by this extraordinary response on the part of people who might have proved - and with plenty of good reasons - tired and disheartened, like the militants of every other Party seem to be.

Therefore, we can say we were not mistaken when we decided to risk the very existence of the Party so as not to submit and accept the fact of abandoning its reason of existence, of surviving like all the others parties and falling back on routine methods, means, plans and goals.

This is what the Radicals expect of themselves and of their party.

It is therefore possible, in a short time, to achieve a number which had been the point of arrival last year.

In the coming days and weeks, we must concentrate on this new possible target. With a rising joy and a hope, so that they may keep growing and spreading. This is possible.

In this sense, we appeal to all those who are willing to listen, asking them to place faith in us and in themselves. In the coming days, we should try, all together, to propagandize the reasons of the importance and the urgency of constituting the 1991 Radical Party. We ask you all to join the party, to back this project.

We must give international, transnational impulse to the work, the needs, the extraordinary battles of the past; in all parts of the world, they must increasingly give rise to the right to life and the life of rights, along with the even greater struggles we are preparing day by day, with lasting perseverance.

Without this radical "faith", without sharing and enhancing the Radical Party's historical intelligence, its political goals, its ideal and practical choices, without contributing our own personal story and features and assuming the ones of the Party, there can be no other choice but to continue to be the helpless witnesses of the spread of violence in the South as in the North, in the East as in the West.

Dear companions,

we wish to deceive no one, not even ourselves; we cannot. We must not let hope turn to deception, we must not let our lives and other people's lives become a cemetery of fallen dreams. This has never occurred thanks to our capacity to evaluate difficulties, our strength and/or our weakness; we have always focussed on the possible versus the probable, we have conceived life, not consumed it.

And yet, while we often wonder whether we are insane, or stupid or presumptuous, or wonder how to carry on, we must tell you that those figures which pointed to a disaster, in our own clear-minded evaluation, and which everyone considered to be such, are now changing, and have already partly changed.

This is why the Party needs to be trusted, now more than ever before.

This is why we are asking you to give us that faith, asking you first of all to trust yourselves (and we realize how difficult this can be at times), in that we understand how much each of us, each of you, are necessary and important for the others and for this Party.
