The purpose of this "Radical Letter - Congress Special", which is the first of 3 or 4, is to open what we hope will become a real "pre-congressional" debate between now and the beginning of May.
As the success of the debate will also depend on the number of people who send us their comments, we are listing below the various topics open to discussion:
- Rewriting of the Statute
- United States of Europe -The Prospects after Maastricht
- Disarmament - Conversion of Military Spending
- An International Language
- Antiprohibitionism
- Death Penalty
- Nonviolence
These topics will be further discussed by all our members at the Congress, which will put us in a position to define and select the prime objectives to which we will dedicate all our efforts to realizing.
In this first letter, we are opening the debate on a United States of Europe, with an article by Edmondo Paolini; on Nonviolence, with some reflections by Marco Pannella concerning the RP nonviolent action in Croatia at the end of last December; and on the Death Penalty, with an article by Prof. Caggiano, and a situation report on the Radical Party Campaign for the Abolition of the Death Penalty throughout the World by the Year 2000, by Sergio D'Elia.
