President-in-Office, a lot of very important and complicated issues face the European Union over the next few years. During the debate about the ratification of the Maastricht Treaty it was actually very difficult to get information in English about its implications. I myself actually found it much easier to get hold of literature in French or German on this very important topic, despite the fact that the British Government has delivered literature on various policies to every household in the UK over the last few years.
Can the Council actually agree together that all European Union members will have equal access to information about the implications of the forthcoming IGC in 1996? Do you not agree that it should not be left to Member State governments to organize information for the citizens of Europe, but that there should be a common standard?
