Subject: Unfair Competition in European Steel Industry

46 000 jobs have been lost in recent years in the slim-down of British Steel, making it the most efficient steel industry in Europe.

Now, thousands more jobs losses are threatened as a result of unfair competition in the EU.

What action, if any, has the Commission taken to end the national subsidies provided to steel producers in Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal?
