Madam President, on a point of order. I should like to raise the serious terrorist bomb attack in Sri Lanka on Sunday which killed 50 people, including the opposition candidate for the presidential elections which were to be held on 9 November and are now being cancelled. The bombing was a horrendous event and it looks as if it seriously jeopardizing the peace process in the civil war which has been going on in Sri Lanka.
I rise to ask whether the President would kindly write to the Prime Minister, Mrs Chandrika Kumaranatunga, to express our feelings of horror, opposition to terrorism and sympathy with all the victims' families, and to hope that the peace process will be able to continue.
