- The first practical thing we will do, as you will see very soon, on 17 November, during Employment Week, is launch our Eures network, which will provide an opportunity for anybody in any part of the Union to see where the vacancies are in any particular field of activity. I am really trying to get across that we have to create a European workforce that is truly mobile. The only way to achieve this is, as you say, and I agree with you, to provide access to information.

This is one of our key proposals in that regard. It raises the whole question of access to other things as well. That is one of the specific themes that I referred to earlier, access to education and training and the link that should exist between them and business. We are making proposals in that regard as well. But you are quite right: access to information is a vital element, and we do have proposals in that respect.
