Madam President, I am disappointed by the answer. In my brief time here I have noticed that things do not always happens quite as fast as they might. It is only five years until 1999. If we are going to have a major celebration of the millennium I think it is very important that we start now, that we start thinking about it very quickly. When the President-in-Office comes to Greenwich to share a pint of beer with me I will seek to show her the many fine buildings, the development opportunities and so on which exist in Greenwich, a very deprived part of London, but a part with a great history and, as the question mentions, the part of London which gives its name to Greenwich Mean Time. I really hope very much that the Council will give serious consideration to having a major international European festival in Greenwich for the millennium.
