Mr President, I would like to bring to your attention what I think is a misrepresentation in last night's Minutes on the steel debate.
Prior to being elected to this House, I was for four years the chairman of the Scottish campaign to save the steel industry. Before that I was a vice-chairman. Throughout that campaign I never missed one meeting or one event. Yet I understand from last night's debate, and I see from the Minutes, that the Member for the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Mrs Ewing, claimed to have almost single-handedly fought the campaign to save Ravenscraig. This is an insult to the workers and to the people who were involved in that strike. I feel that this misconception must be brought to the attention of the House, because I think Mrs Ewing is nothing but a charlatan in this matter.
